Any other thoughts? Anyone heard about ths triton factory recall?

The guy says it was a factory recall and that Triton authorized his dealer to do it as he is a welder. the crack is on the hull I guess on the bottom about right under the start of the front deck

I can assure you that I won't be purchasing any more rods from Cabela's after they denied honoring the warranty and probably won't be purchasing any other new Loomis rods since none of their local...

I would rather not have to pay $45 to send it to G.Loomis when I should be able to have it replaced for free over the counter. I don't see how what type of damage the rod has matters.
