hey joe, i just realized when you were responding to my question about hole size you may have thought i meant the gauge - i was asking about the threads/ hole for the sending unit into motor...

i'm looking to add a temperature gauge to my 86 mercury black max 135 .... is there a difference between auto and boat gauges - as long as i buy a compatible sending unit ? are the threads / hole...

i have an '86 135 black max - i've seen in general where some say to seal the gap between water pump and exhaust port, and i've also seen it said it's not necessary ... is it or not and why for yes...
got a kit with plastic plug for pump shaft, o - ring, and 2 screws....what else shoudl i have besides pressure valve plug, and is the rubber cap i used on that fitting not good? - thnx again
thanks for the help....by pressure valve , do you mean at bottom of starboard side, where the oil line went back into the boat to the oil tank ? i capped that with a rubber cap - will that work ? ......
thnx...block off kit is on it's way.... when i pull out the oil pump, does the gear come out with it ? i would just be sliding the block off piece with two o rings into the hole ?....the warning...
