Thanks for the input guess I’m going to be changing some filters!
I’ve not changed any filters or pumps. I’ve owned it for a little over a year now. That sounds like a good place to start tho.

I was told from Yamaha 1 hour slowest possible speed. 2nd and 3rd hour 4k rpm’s and various speed changes. Then remaining 7 hours run as normal but no wide open throttle for more then 5 minutes.

Just got a brand new power installed and this is the paper they gave me. Everything I’ve read online was just taking 2 hours to break in. This is nuts. The motor is a 2004 225 hpdi.

I’m pretty sure they said the reason cylinder 3 failed was because injector went bad.
What do you mean by junk fuel? I was going to run Yamalube 2m but I’ve always ran 89 octane in my mercury motors. Do you run a different grade in the Yamahas?
I’m going to pick up a 2004 zx225 skeeter with 225 hpdi. It just came from the dealer after having new powerhead new oil pump and all the injectors sent off and cleaned. Question is I have never...
Thank you
Just got a 2003 skeeter with 225 Yamaha hpdi. It was 0 hours on brand new powerhead and all new injectors. My question is how do you break in a Yamaha motor I’ve only had mercurys in the past.
Does anyone know the factory specs for your TPS sensor at idle for a 1999 mercury 150 efi? I know my Yamaha 225 vmax is half a volt at idle.
Jaspers come with a 1 year parts and labor warranty.
I’m pretty sure it’s getting a jasper power head. They said it was going to be fixed when I pick it up. I’m going to try it out and do a compression test before I buy. It’s getting fixed by a skeeter...
The motor was tested while being serviced at a boat mechanic shop. The mechanic wasn’t in when I picked it up so he never explained how the test was done. Nothing was ever said about the results so I...
That sucks because he was asking 14k and boat was in mint condition. It’s in shop now getting brand new jasper power head installed.
Purchasing a skeeter zx225 that is in the process of getting a brand new power head installed (cylinder 3 has zero compression. Question is is it smart buying a boat that is getting new power head...

Yes I’m talking about in gear and running it will only let you trim it so far then stops.
I have a 99 tr18 with Mercury 150 efi. I’ve noticed you can trim it all that way up when out of the water but in the water it will only go so high and stop. I figured it might be some kind of safety...
