I personally think it would dampen the sound when the sinker strikes rock, gravel, etc., so may do harm but then again every day is a different day when fishing.

Legit question.
Nitro you will be making your "price difference by QUALITY". PERIOD. END OF STORY.
Maybe call mercury and see if they have any suggestions.
is everything tight? You haven't taken your VST take apart lately and not replace the rubber O (#2) ring have you?
Can you post a pic? There's a mercury forum on here to and I guess those guys are on it.
That's horrible.
It's still not fixed. Go to my post and read everything about it. They initially tried to fix it by taking the jp off, rasing it, then squaring it up, then marked and drilled new holes and re-mounted...
Mine was doing the exact same thing, leaning to the left. Look at my pics under "to help you make and educated decision on buying a new boat".
I had lean as well and it turned out that my motor was mounted uneven so you could possibly check that.
Well played juhealy!!
I use the Simms and it has held up really well, however, the only thing I don't like about it is once pulled all the way up over my nose my sunglasses start to fog up.
Save up a bit more money and keep lookin brother.
Kind of my thought as well, however, there are people a lot smarter than me on this I'm sure. I'd probably feel differently about it if the boat was 10 years old and paid off then yeah fill em and...
Possibly get you a battery switch and run it parallel to one of your TM batteries (as long as they're not dead which I've never had an optima run all the way down on a full charge in one days worth...
I've gone to optima's and won't go back. Hate that they're made in Mexico but is what it is. I use 3 31's for TM and a 27 for crankin but also run parallel to one of my TM batteries through a switch
This is how I did it as well. Good coat of wax afterwards and don't breathe the crap. Im sure all the others would work just as well and probably not as abrasive! I use vinegar mixed with windex...
Thanks gents for the input. Would like to hear some more opinions as well, especially first hand
Hey gents,
I have a glass boat that the outboard was mounted crooked and the factory is trying to take back it back to fix it.. Well, by fixing it they are wanting to fill the original 4 holes in...
Is filling in the four holes and re-drilling even an acceptable fix? It seems like that by "filling" it still isn't going to be nearly as strong and then you're going to drill 4 additional holes with...
I'm praying the right thing will be done but only time will tell at this point. Wish you the best of luck with it all man. Sucks I know.
I agree the motor is most important, however, what's the rest of it gonna look like in 5 years when I have 10 years left on the loan.. That's the way I'm lookin at it. It's only seen the water not...
Well, I've made it out to Texas and was fortunate enough to run into a reputable dealer and think things may get straightened out the correct way. These guys seem very sharp and sympathizing. I have...
You know man, I was gonna live with it if it worked but now I'm all out on it. Between that and the gel coat I'm over it. They have now created a huge safety concern with the integrity of the...

This may help.
They raised the jack plate itself to drill 4 new holes then they had to adjust it down to get it back on (hope that makes sense).
