    Re: Fluorocarbon (j6824)

I've experienced the same thing....I tie the palomar differently when using flouro and low lb test mono.

Most guys tie the overhand portion of the knot, cinch it down, loop the hook through , then...

    Re: Jigs Hanging! (Dover)

Sometimes pulling the line between the first and second rod eyelet to load the rod, and quickly releasing it will throw a bunch of slack down to the jig and pop it off. Otherwise, you just have to...

Re: pegging tungsten bullet weights? (walligator)

Re: Your thought on Vanish (Sprint280)

I've had the same experience with the 14lb test. Works great as long as you take reasonable care of it. I buy the 2000 yard spools for $60. I can keep it fresh at that price.

Re: Your thought on Vanish (Huskybass)

I found I was better off with fresh Vanish then trying to eek out my $20 bucks out of one spool of Sniper. I'm picky about having fresh line though.

    Re: Fluorocarbon question (Cat022)

You didn't say what pound test and if you'll be using it on spinning or baitcasting.
I've had good luck with 14lb vanish for all my jigs and worming and am buying the 2000 yard spool for sixty...

Sticky: Re: Beginner baitcasting tips? (booty0)

    Booty,

A seven footer might be a little difficult to learn with. I'd suggest a six footer so can learn to cast side arm too. If you pond fish from the bank, whatever you make sure you don't hit...

    Natural,

Keep your eyes open at Dick's , sports authority etc...Some of them may have the old Chronarchs and are letting them go for around $150.

Sticky: Re: favorite rod brand (fisherboy)

My G-Loomis' will have to be pried out of my cold dead hands...With my surgically reconstructed wrist and they allow me to fish longer and harder. I own 11 of them plus one custom made Flippin stick...

    Sticky: Re: Favorite reel? (sdfd504)

Original Chronarch. Only weighs 7.9 Ounces, reliable, great casting with smooth and tough gears. I think Shimano made a mistake replacing this reel with that new 270 dollar 9 ounce tank.

    Plus...

    Sticky: Re: Favorite reel? (sdfd504)

I'm a diehard Shimano guy and have lot's of Curados and japanese Scorpions. My favorite has to be the regular old Chronarch. Nice and light at under 8 ounces, baby butt smooth, with the guts to...
