Hey guys I'll be going down for a new experience in February to fish on Ouachita. If any of you locals would be willing to help a guy out and give a starting point that'd be greatly appreciated!...
I have the Mclelland rods and they are hands down my favorite! I haven't had tried the white ices but compared to the micro magics I prefer the caras for sensetiviry and balance. Great rods!
I may be little over kill compared to most people here but I use a straight shank 6/0 trokar with 25 lb test. I missed a few with a 5/0 so I've bumped up to a 6/0 and honestly I miss very very few...
I had the exact same problem with Seaguar, I tried the invisx and abrazx with the same results. It seemed like the problem got worse towards the end before I switched to Sunline FC Sniper and haven't...
I switched to Sunline FC almost exclusive, it seemed like Seaguar was getting weaker than it used to be. Also another thing it seemed like when cranking or dragging a jig, c-rig etc it seems like my...
Both 4/0 and 5/0 trokars
I've been missing several fish while flipping a straight shank hook and a palomar knot, I read that a snell knot will help dramatically on hookup ratio. I tied this knot and it looks like it would...
You don't haft to get all crazy with it, I use Sunline 7 lb FC sniper and use a swivel with a leader, without a swivel it will eventually start to twist if you vertically drop the bait because your...
I'm curious to see the responses on this. I will change the hooks out to gama's, and I have just started using red hooks my last trip, they look good for sure.
Around here the tournament draws are dwindling down more and more every year, a few years ago tournaments was drawing 40+ boat every tournament, now the all of the series are lucky to draw 25.....
No, it was directed towards hogwalls. Sorry for the confusion
That's most definitely a largemouth, you can tell by the coloring alone. Bull has dink kentuckies compared to table rock.
I've been having the problem of losing fish with the flipping hooks. I've been using the 4/0 on beavers and have been sticking the fish and about the time they come up and hit the surface they spit...
Bass pro sucks IMO. Way over priced on everything and the price of shipping is out of hand. Tackle warehouse and the tackle trap is the only way to go.
If I was you I'd bring 2 rods, this goes true for Norfork and Bull. One for a jig if the wind doesn't blow and one for a spinnerbait or crankbait if it does blow.
Lol I'm sure I can find where the fish are not at. But thanks Jas, I'll give ya a shout.
RangerR, I'm not sure if it is or not. I hope, 105k surface acres gives me a headache just thinking about it.
Hey guys, I have a regional tournament on Eufaula the first week in June. Never been on or even seen the lake before. Could anyone fill me in on what the lake is like? Thanks!
What a stud:thumb up2:
Awesome! :thumb up2:
Sounds perfect for a spook/buzzbait! If that wouldn't work you might burn a spinnerbait. The day before with sun and 80's wouldn't effect it IMO, the fish are always shallow they can just be super...
+1!
Dang what a buck.. The sientamental aspect of it's priceless, but $2500 is pretty fair for a mount IMO
