I haven't goofed with AC PC much lately, life changing circumstances, lack of using our own boat, and I rarely boot windows 7 , been running Linux for a few years and do NOT have that awful...

Steve, you won't find another guy like Mike - he knows his way around AC like nobody else.

Regular AC PC installed on a SSD with 7 on it, but...

I've got a brand new OEM copy of 7 just waiting to be used in a VM LOL!

Wine won't work.
I run several Linux versions including Mint.
Best to Dual boot and get any copy of win cheap.

I wouldn't bother.
It's tough/tedious to delete stuff without AutoChart PC or AC Pro.
The map just gets more accurate with more data points.

You'll have to record 8 hrs of new data to overwrite the current data stored in the control head.

Or manually delete all the data off the unit which is tough to do by deleting data points.

Yep - or just move all the files from it to your PC JIC....

I'm not a Solix/Onix guy and suspect Carl or Wayne will be along shortly, but the ACL format is "basically the same" as LM and should work fine as far as I know.

If you read thru Mike's tutorial you will see you save as a .KML file, import that to AC PC and save it as an .ACD (AC PC) or .ACU (ACL) file.

This should work out in everyone's best interest...

Just be careful you don't fill the card up.

There is none.

Even if you have a "blank" card the unit will default recording sonar logs to the ZLC - I swapped cards slots and verified that (H10 MDI).

You will need to regularly need to lock...

The ZLC was not made for storing sonar log recordings, and you should use a blank card for that - rather than waste valuable space on the ZLC...

Unless you are using simulator more DO NOT run the...

What do you find beneficial with the SI mosaics?

If you are recording in ACL format (not Sonar Logs) probably enough storage to outlive me and you....

The ACL files are tiny - (kb not MB) so no worries, just occasionally back up the ACDATA...

Rage & Ram - No and No.

ALCS just makes the ACL data available to anyone, and the card will store gob and gobs of ACL files (same size).

Sonar Logs can be used to create AC PC or ACL files,...
