awesome! Thank you!
Hey Don,
I have the 2022 Mercury 90hp 4 stroke. How do I go about upgrading to the smartcraft gauges with the troll control on the gauges? I see one is a speedometer and the other an RPM gauge....
If I do put a digital trim sender, will it make the analog trim gauge more accurate?
Thank you. I didn’t install anything. So I guess it just comes with the analog. Thank you!
Can I use a digital trim sender with my Mercury flagship analog trim gauge on a 2022 90 HP Mercury Outboard. Will this make the trim information more accurate since it’s a digital trim gauge vs the...
Awesome thanks for commenting with your experience! Appreciate it a lot.
Thank you for everyone’s input on their experiences! Has been very helpful for me.
Lol yeah, that’s why you always have to verify what you hear or are told.
I was told the jacket/ insulation. Honestly, didn’t sound right but thought I’d ask seeing as I would be putting higher amps on smaller wire. Maybe it’s somewhat accurate.
How accurate is this statement? 4 gauge marine grade wires for trolling motor will last twice as long as 6 gauge marine grade wires due to it will deteriorate faster. 10+ years vs 5-6 years. It’s...
Anyone using the Minn Kota 1865128 MKR-26 Freshwater and Saltwater Motor Plug and Receptacle with their Garmin Force Trolling Motor in both a 24v and 36volt capacity? Any issues? Experiences would be...
How big is your gas tank? Thank you for your comment! That’s exactly what I was thinking and our situation is very similar. Appreciate you sharing your technique in how you fill your gas tank.
it does! Thank you. You don’t fill up your tanks before you store your boat. Just whatever is in there and treated.
Nice! Thank you. More info from experience that helps give me peace of mind that I don’t have to fill the tank completely after every outing.
I agree about the additives situation. Definitely doesn’t matter if you it gives you that peace of mind. Definitely going to just not concern myself too much with filling the tank full just so I can...
So you just keep them full and not worry too much about what happens when the gas gets old and starts separating? Or do you just burn through the gas so it’s not a concern?
Thanks for the link. I have actually read that one about additives and decided I’m a Mercury additives guy for my peace of mind and simplicity. What do you do about fuel being in your tank during...
Awesome, thanks for all of the input and comments! I have read the same thing and got the same thing from Mercury about condensation less likely to happen with the plastic tanks vs the old aluminum....
In regards to Condensation in the tanks. Should you always keep gas tank full? Or is it safe to just run down the gas to near empty (however long that takes) so you can get rid of old gas. Mercury...
Do the side locks keep the motor from jerking violently side to side? I’ve also read that there’s a small amount of play moving side to side. Is this your same experience?
that’s great to hear! Thank you for your response!
awesome thanks for you response to my post!
thank you for the response. The new Mercury 4 stroke 75/90/115 recent years don’t come with NFB steering system?
hey Don,
what’s the best way to secure side to side movement on Mercury four stroke motor with CABLE steering? Hydraulic steering clips are pretty inconvenient when using with cable steering....
My outboard moves side to side when towing. The new motor mate for 4 stroke Mercury doesn’t secure side to side movement, have to use clips for that.
