This is a very common experience during the shipping process. You could blend with a die grinder to streamline the break or leave it as is with no harm.
The driveshaft and propshaft outer seals will not be affected by a pressure only test, that's where the vacuum test comes in.
The SEI case does pretty well and reasonably priced. You would not receive a warranty since your engine is an H.O.
In addition to Fred's instructions, you may want to check your propshaft for any scratches to the sealing surface you may have applied.
Don't forget the shift rod O ring. And I don't use the shift rod cover gasket, I like ultra black instead.
