I have a mercury 90 hp 2001. When i turn the key all i get is a ticking sound beside the starter? The battery is good.

Had it put on the computer and it didn't have any registered faults. Took it out on the water, right at 5200 to 5300 rpm's alarm starts to sound. Take it back to be hooked up, still no faults...
