Blake, have you tried it on another electrical connection/plug that isn't at your house. As I said before, the polarity has a lot to do with being shocked.

I used to get shocked by a Amplifier which had a polarity switch. Basically would switch the two wires that went to the outlet back when there wasn't a ground plug on the plug itself - just a two...
