Pulled my Powerhead last week and found a cracked adapter plate. Ordered a new one and started reassembling tonight. There is an extra hose barb on the starboard side of the adapter when I compared...

Sap is coming out around 2.5% sugar content which is 34:1. We use reverse osmosis to pull off more water. This last batch the sap coming out of the RO was at almost 10%. Hoping for another 30 gallons...

We have shirts that say that with a picture of a Maple Tree
We also do Maple Sugar, Maple Candied Almonds and Pecans. My brother uses the maple sugar in his rubs for when he smokes pork.
Grows over in about a year. The rule of thumb is 4" left or right and 4" up or down from the last years tap.
Average year for us is 2000 gallons of sap. Neighbor down the road does it commercially and taps 4000 trees and between his reverse osmosis and evaporator goes through 1500 gallons an hour. Was...

It's why I love living up here. So much to do and truly have all four seasons and things to do during all them, although this winter has sucked.
We use a mix of 3/16 tubing and bags. 40 trees have bags with 5/16 taps and 100 have 3/16 taps. The 3/16 tubing creates a vacuum and pulls sap well into the night
Yes we ship. If you're on Facebook you can look at our page Sugar Ridge Farm.
After we collect the sap which has a sugar content of 2-4% we bring it to the garage and run it through a reverse osmosis which pulls out about half the water which reduces boiling time and firewood...
