I’m running a pump from these guys. No issues. https://www.highflowfuel.com/reviews/
If they relay is going, it will do it again at some random point. When mine went, it was real intermittent. The last time, I was lining up someone to tow me back to the ramp when it fired. I hauled...
Yup. Random no starts can be the fuel pump relay.
There should be orings around the injector shaft to seal them. The person cleaning them should have replaced them if they are thorough
That’s where I would start. You can’t run the motor while using that flush port. Pull the screens on the lower intake too to see if crud is coming out.
If you’ve never replaced the low pressure pumps, they are a maintenance item. I did the electric pump mod and removed mine. Pump self primes, so that lets you remove the primer bulb which is...
What’s the maintenance history? Weird stuff can have an electrical connection. Without knowing something about the maintenance, it’s a shot in the dark.
Since you mention the tilt deal, I wonder if maybe the float in you VST is out of whack. I still would check all the grounds. When those get corrosion, the symptoms get weird.
Just fine. No issues so far. For around $30, you can just replace every 1-2 years as preventative maintenance.
Yes. Running the Walbro pump on the motor. I built a harness adapter for the O2, so I can now run the NGK or Denso one.
Just running this back to the top in case someone else is chasing gremlins. Boat has run probably the best ever. With everything I did trying to find the problem, I’m seeing the best holeshot and...
Change the impeller housing while you are at it. They get worn over time and will lose pressure. Had the same issue on mine. Poppet didn’t fix it, but the housing did.
I mounted the Walbro FRB13-2 on the motor.
Check your grounds on the top, rear port side of the motor. My HP pump was sporadically dropping off, and corrosion there was the cause. Also, if you didn't clean the tube that feeds the O2 sensor...
Have you done the low pressure fuel pump delete? I used the Walbro and mounted it on the motor. That was worth the effort.
Check the wires grounded on the rear top port side of the motor. Mine had corrosion and it had a lot of weird symptoms.
There are two main things I learned doing mine. Getting the main carrier bearing out is a pita, and replace every seal the first time.
Got the carrier out with a gear puller and propane torch....
If the case isn’t damaged, rebuild it. They are not overly complex, but the carrier bearing can be a bear to get out.
Chris is great. If you have questions, just call him. I ran ideas by him, and he let me know the best way to do the swap. I called him before and after I bought his reeds.
CC reeds come with the intake stuffers and are priced for a little more. They are the real deal and make a difference. The power band builds much quicker with them.
Today was full lake test day. Holy cr@p. Boat probably runs the best it ever has. The hole shot and 0-50mph is incredible. Big fan of the Chris Carson reeds now that I can see what they can do. ...
Original reeds that were over 22 years old were perfect. Little sign of wear and probably would have lasted for the life of the motor, but you never know.
Check the poppet valve on the back low rear of the engine. If you got trash in the system and that is stuck open, it could impact your water pressure which would mean nothing out of the witness hole.
I have the VX200TRLY. Let me start by saying that this motor has been rock solid for the 8 years I've had it. I did have the main relay go out and regular maintenance items, but nothing too...
