So I had not heard from HB and reverted one of the units to a previous software. Then HB responded that the symptoms are consistent with a worn cable tray. The next time the unit acted up, I should...
mounthomefb, I hadn't heard back from HB, so I reinstalled and older version of the software. Right after that, HB responded that the problem was likely my cable tray was worn. The told me that...
:praying: Lord, please be with this young one and if it be your will, guide the surgeon's hand and help the boy make a full recovery. Should this be his time to go home to you, help his family come...
Thanks! I have the previous version for one of my units. I'll give it a try.
I realize this is an old post, but how do you revert to a previous version? I installed Ver. 2.180 and I am now having issues with both of my G2N helix units. I'd love to revert at least one of...
I have the exact same issues as mounthomefb with my Helix 9 and 10 (both G2N) except that my units are both now telling me that my Mega360 Transducer is not fully retracted. I don't have a Mega360...
Well, now the unit is telling me the Mega360 Transducer is not fully retracted. It could be right, since I don't have one!
I've emailed HB and suggested there may be a problem with 2.180...
Hmmm. I'll look into that. Curious thing is I don't turn the sonar off (other than to try to get it back on again). The problem did only arise after the 2.180 update!
Thank you for the information. I was afraid a new transducer may be needed... Temps are an issue as well, but the sensor is in the transducer.
I have two Humminbirds on my rig. A Helix 10 and a Helix 9. Both are RAM mounted and interchangeable. Whichever unit is plugged into the console location, it randomly will not register the...
Float switch replaced. Runs great!
Unfortunately that wasn't the end of it. As I was installing the new fuel pumps I double checked the float switch while I had it apart. Imagine my disgust when a learned the real problem was a bad...
After round two at the shop, the problem is... Fuel Lift pump. They wanted to replace the entire FSM for almost $1200.
I brought the boat home and order both the lift pump and high pressure...
Didn't even bother to take it to the lake. Replaced the water pump, learning that you should drain the oil on a four stroke before pulling the gearcase, then did a complete oil change.
Put the...
Picked the boat up tonight after work. Reviewing the print out given to me by the shop, overheating is not likely the source. The overheat condition occurred prior to my owning the boat, not within...
Heard back from the dealer. They had it "running on a hose" - I am assuming water hose for cooling - and found no issues. The computer did indicate overheat conditions with which the guardian...
The line was brand new, never used. (The nuts were slipped over the outside of the line to act a weight to keep the line in the tank)
What would be an acceptable range for vacuum? I had not...
Plugs and fuel filters were changed prior to last Sunday and Monday nights tests. I dropped the boat at my nearest authorized Merc shop. We'll see what they come up with.
I'm a newbie to four...
I have now way of knowing about the plugs except they looked good. Given they way they are set down inside the head with the long boots and coils...
The alternator belts looks way to good to be 12...
I had no issues drawing fuel up from the tank, but maybe the flowrate is too low...
I do not have a portable tank. The best I could do is a 5 gallon can and some 3/8" line. Next several days...
OK. Vessel View came in Thursday night. I installed it and the only codes it reports is due to turning the key on with the ignition coils unplugged....
Motor reports 90.4 hours. ...
Thanks! I'll get it put back together with the new filters and plugs and try that first. Then I'll go to an alternate tank.
Any idea why the high pressure filter would be nearly empty of fuel?
I wish I had more data on the maintenance. I have a filed that indicates it has been serviced 2x per year by the dealer that sold it, but the service reports are vague.
Oil is clean, looks like...
I have a 2008 Merc. 115 fourstroke, SN 1B693746. I purchased the motor last winter and was able to hear it start and idle, but could not test it (lakes were a little stiff here in WI...).
