could be coil dropping out under load , might be looking at injector failing be careful could loose that cyl if its inj stuck and you keep running it

spark on all 6 ?? you got any pics of those plugs , you may have a detonation problem going on there , also may need to isolate non working cyls
GEN 2 gearcase in a HP application i would use solid hub on the 1.25 shaft although i have not seen the hard shift with the SSR hub and have ran one on one of my personal boats GEN 1 case
oil pump prime is recommended with diagnostic equipment , lap the reed cages as described on this forum ,do a search here form good info, reeds that are to tight or to loose can cause some running...
recommend having faults read /scan to determine alarm cause , possible low voltage
inspect top edge closely most seem to crack there
