I am at a point where I may just stop even trying to catch them on any of the toad baits(Ribbits, Cane Toads, HornyToads etc)

You can remedy the issue by putting another light coat of epoxy on top....
My suggestion is to mix a MINIMUM of 5cc of both hardner and resin........any less and you may end up in the same boat...
