Any idea where thats located and how to check it by chance?
I noticed that my motor would only operate in 24v high the other day and then found the 12v 24v toggle switch was broken. I replaced the switch and now the motor will only operate on high in both 12v...
Thank you.....the VRO has been disconnected for a while. He is just losing prime and fuel pressure a bit. It is acting exactly like mine did a year ago. Thank you the info

I might have miss spoke about using an electric pump. I have a 90 hp Johnson and replaced the VRO pump with on of these. I am looking for this type of pump. But for the GT 200
my father n law is wanting to replace his disconnected VRO pump with a regular electric fuel pump. Can anyone give me a model number for the one he needs? 1987 Johnson GT 200.
376030 thanks for all the input along the way. Here is the new pump mounted and ready to go. Unfortunately, my battery is completely shot and cant take it to the lake to see if it works. I'll let you...
375768 ok, so I have the pump coming, but not sure about actual installation. My VRO pump.has 4 lines connected to it, but the new pump only has 3. Any insight would be appreciated on that. Also, Do...
One last question...is there a way to test the pump before I just replace it?
What's a bad idea? Buying the pump Championman is talking about or something else?
Is this the same pump? Looks like it just doesn't come with zip ties and fuel line.
Awesome..thank you! 374600
Or maybe a way to eliminate the VRO pump and install a electric fuel pump?
Is there a rebuild kit for it or a cheaper place to find a new pump? Maybe a part number if you have one available?
Alright fellas,
The dilemma I have I believe is fuel related, but I'm no outboard mechanic. First off it's a 1993 Johnson 90 hp. It will start and idle for a few minutes. However, it will begin...
Also, is the neutral switch under the flywheel or behind the throttle lever? Finding different answers on the web and its poring outside.
Ok..update. I removed the yellow/red wire from the starter solenoid and attached my remote starter button to its post and to the power post and the motor cranked. So, does this mean my neutral safety...
Do you mean check to see if broken or loose? Is there anything specific I can do to make sure it works or even disable to see if the motor starts?
Alright...I have a 93 Stratos with a 90 TLAT hp Johnson. Today was the first day on the lake due to a recent move. The motor fired right up and ran good. I fished a bit and the boat started up and I...
Thanks for the information and I will pull the solenoid out of the bracket Saturday and post a pic. The 2nd pic of the solenoid is actually under rotated. It will not turn a full 90* in that...
Also, the plugs are supposed to be gaped at 30, but I gaped them at 35 the other day (I was guessing at the time). Will this cause problems anywhere?
Alright...here is what I have done today and it started right up and purred like a kitten.
Pic #1 is the red lever on the fuel solenoid facing the carbs (how I think it has always been) and would...
Which direction should the red lever be facing? Towards the carbs or away?
Also, yes I push in the center button and push the throttle forward as you mentioned in your reply. I'm at work today,...
So, the engine is cranking over and not starting. (not even trying) Didn't know that about using starting fluid...good to know. My cold start process goes like this...
Step 1... pump priming bulb...
Could it be the Primer Solenoid?
Ok....here's my issue. It is a 1993 90 HP Johnson outboard that is not starting. Background...it has always been a bit tricky to get started. However, after running it for a bit and then fishing...
