I think JOE nailed it..... I have an XR6 and the oil never looks aerated in either oil tank, even after running it thru chop. I would start there, maybe crack in the pick up tube.

I would go with Bussman breakers, That looks like what guys you for car stereo systems. Doubt it would handle marine environment long term.

Thread post- "Thinking of a Nitro? Just say 'NO'."
Post 16- "Where did I 'trash' Nitro? I have presented (only) the facts. I did so hoping that other potential Nitro owners know the risks and might...
Thought i would copy and past before it is gone on ebay....
Freaking hilarious....
I am selling a pair of 1983 Mercury Mariner 200 2-Stroke motors that are in decent running condition. I am repowering my boat, these motors are yours if you will come and get them and pay me some...
I doubt many shops have the ability, like a battery dealer has. To truly test the battery capacity takes specialized test equipment and time to test. A dealer is not in the "battery" business, they...
With any battery you want to meet the minimum specs for starting required, obviously.
But with a boat, because you are also using the starting as dual purpose, besides CCA. I pay more attention to...
Is that towtector as close to the ground as possible? Needs to be, i would think even touching the ground when not moving, cause at 30mph it will be pushed up slightly by air.
Also you might look...
I believe you now, your not kidding you have never changed a water pump, after this comment. Hopefully the next guy who buys your boat is told about not changing pump.
Besides the hours, I change...
I would get a current clamp meter (or equivalent) on the battery cable to the engine. And see if here is a drain while fishing. Eliminate the engine (or not) and move on to other cables connected to...
For your trolling motor. But,,,,Until the BMS is designed to mercury specs, won't be seeing them approved for starting any time soon, is my guess. Have a great day!!!!!
Bump, Curious also
Thanks, Don. Gonna use the the yellow, the blue ones have been used for a couple oil changes. They Still look good..i will keep the blue for spares.
Thanks Again.
Bought water pump kit 96148A8 from European Marine. For my 0T149393 150 XR6. the kit came with two yellow rubberized washers. Are those for lower unit oil plugs??
Happy to say that my water...
Same here,,, Lowrance worked fine in the nitro, the garmin has issues, a touring pro with a ranger has the same issue with garmin.
Moved the GT8 shoot-thru transducer as far back as it can go in bilge. Now works to 40mph.
I noticed they used regular marine silicon, instead of epoxy.
And also is the face of the GT8 have a...
Still does not work, after testing on water. I am at a loss.
Gotcha, I think UFP was bought by dexter axle, the people who make the surge brake system. It may be worth it to call them. But it sounds like they are getting it figured out.
I agree, take the engine to a mercury dealer. Does not have to be the dealer you bought the boat from.
As far as the surge breaks activating.
I know enough about hydraulic surge breaks to...
Honestly.. I have not a clue. I was planning on going out yesterday to test a few things. I was thinking of bypassing the y cable and hooking only the GT8 up, if that is possible and testing.
I am having similar issue, following. Brand new units.
I have thread going here http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=1084088
Going to take the boat out tonight and do some testing.
Traditional reads perfectly fine while idling. But,,As soon as the boat is on pad, even as slow as you can go engine trimmed all the way...
That what I thought too. But I am not familar enough with garmin yet.
I may have the dealer move the transducer. It is near the live well in the bilge. I think it needs to be all the way in the...
I thought that also, but with the graph on traditional sonar (although it say GT8+GT30 Chirp at the bottom left corner) if i reached down and moved a solid object just below the face of the GT30...
