For those who fish Eufaula beware the cove immediately south of Otho branch, on alabama side
Ran over a hidden underwater metal dock pole while fishing docks at Eufaula. Water was muddy , pole must have been a foot or so underwater, no chance of seeing it. Worst damn sound in the world as it...
Thanks Chris and BCB
Going out Friday so will be a bit slower on the trim. Possibly the answer but will know if it happens again pretty quickly. Sounds like a slight drop on the manual jackplate...
Thanks Elwood (as well as all others whom have chimed in)
I had just tightened all jackplate /mounting bolts and nothing seemed to be excessively loose. Half turn here and there at most.
Maybe...
I have found it much easier these days to just put on a pair of Depends when I am trying to get her closer to the edge. Makes the clean-up alot easier
Ok. Weighed tackle today
Forward of front cooler I’m at 90 lbs including rods on deck.
Add 12 lbs for gear in front cooler brings total to 102 lbs forward of console, perfectly even side to side...
Haven’t run near skinny water for sand blast possibly loading boat at ramp might have but prop looks fine. Only at about 80 hrs on motor/prop
NM
Will weigh tackle/gear tomorrow and post it. Could be the gradual additions of new lures/tackle, etc has become an issue. We DO have a Cabelas in town, which my wife believes is half empty these days...
Totally different from chine, which is what I am working through as far as getting better driving the Eyra as I get closer to her limits.
I don’t feel I’m over-trimming as I am pretty much...
21 Eyra /250 Merc 4-stroke/manual plate/ stock 24” Fury 3-blade
Moved some boxes/weight around in the boat trying to get things right and think i have made it worse.
The last two times out as...
Have a strange issue going on with my factory/dealer installed Helix 12's. After running to first spot of day, EVERY time out, bow Gen 4 Helix 12 powers itself off, then powers back up after anywhere...
Agree 110% :thumb up2:
Outstanding :thumb up2:
Might you be the gent I spoke with the first time I took my new Eyra out at Broyles last year?
The struggle is real.... 7 5/8" here.
Was wondering if Arkansans have smaller heads or what
Thanks Phil. I do many of the things you mentioned already but am curious about the running downwind in chop comment. I'm guessing just to minimize lift on the front in the event of a strong gust...
Thanks Elwood. Really enjoy reading your posts and learning from your experiences. I’m sure I’ll get it in time, with or w/o help from a knowledgable co-driver.
Merry Christmas to you and yours...
That seems to be par for the course with me. When I picked up motorcycle riding at 43 (with only a few dirt bike rides as a young teen under my belt) I decided why screw around with a Harley...
There’s that damn seat time thing again
No poles, 36 volt set up (total of four lead acid batteries), Helis 12 on nose and console.
I know the boats hulls are different but doing some...
I haven't moved it from the factory setting of 3.25" PTP. (Boat leveled, measured from tip of nosecone on lower unit to middle of concave part of pad)
One of the reasons I haven't tinkered with...
Thanks much guys. I’ll be looking forward to some of ya’lls coaching on this kitty.
(Shame Elwood or Phil Addison don’t live closer to help me out…. )
I have about 15 hrs on my 2022 so far and am no closer to taming her than Day One. Can run up to 70-72 and can't push past the 'walk" to stretch her out into the higher 70's. I know everyone says...
Son-of-a female mutt….. learn something new every day !
Muchos gracias. :thumb up2:
FWIW I’m screwed in that dept. anyhow…having had double shoulder replacements I’m already a walking lightning...
2021 Eyra, on the front deck, left side just to the right of the amperage gauge.
Has a lightning symbol and started flashing red today just before i called it quits to head in and go to work....
