Nothing wrong with wanting to see the model and serial number of the motor or the Hull ID. I post it in the pictures when I am selling something.
Did he not have GPS?
Is anyone on here a member of the Ranger Aluminum boat owners Facebook Group? I have been trying to join but having issues.
6' 10" - 7' MH fast action.
That's right, they are all running 4 strokes now, how could I forget. You used to be able to to run that fast loaded.
The 21XL doesn't go fast enough to be a rough ride. The ride is going to be smoother at 65 MPH vs 75+ no matter what boat it is, unless you are comparing it to an aluminum.
A few of the examples I mentioned had power poles. I have installed them on a couple of my boats and I haven't really lost speed with them, the 8 footers don't really weigh that much, and that weight...
Where do you come up with that? He follows is own advice and is currently worth close to 300 million and not even 65 yet. His advice is to get you out of being broke, not keeping you that way....
Read my post again, they were for sure around in 2016 and had been out several years before that.
20 years ago was 2004 not in the 80s, that is the time period I am mainly referring to, early 2000s to mid 2010s really. There was plenty 75+ MPH boats (GPS speed) that had power poles and 36v...
Looks like I really got something started here, main point is I find it odd that after 15-20 years of advancements in motor and boat building tech the new boats are now slower than before. People...
Rangers are exempt from this thread, they have never been quick either way.
Verified with GPS, he only had one unit on the bow and no heavy spot lock trolling motor.
I would like to add all the speeds I have mentioned were on a GPS, not going by a boat speedometer.
No doubt about that, GPS speeds are all I go by.
Almost forgot about the Pro Craft 210, it ran 75-76 with a 250 Mercury also, didn't ride that great though. Main point is back then pretty much any mainstream bass boat- Triton, Stratos, Pro Craft,...
Back in the day most 20-21 foot boats with a 225 2 stroke could easily break 70 mph if set up right, and with a 250 they would run 75-80 mph or more. Examples from past experiences, Javelin 400 with...
I will contact the company tomorrow and have them send me the correct one. To clarify I don't know how Amazon got brought up, this came from an independent online Mercury parts dealer that I have...
Best thing to do is not let it sit for a few months, in the winter months when I am not using my boat I will start it up and let it run for a few minutes on the muffs at least once a month.
Pull the kill switch and crank it.
I ordered this fuel filter for my 115 Optimax from the same supplier I use every year. Instead of coming in a Quicksilver box like all the other ones have it came in a plane white box with a label on...
Helped a friend of mine work on his 90 Optimax, don't have model number right now but I can get it, around a 2008 year range. One of the things we did was change the inline oil filter and he decided...
I looked at the TR196 today, motor ran great but had over 950 hours on it, another testament to the Optimax reliability but I certainly wasn't going to pay the 20K he wanted for it, the cowl was...
30 lb braid is the lightest I will use on a baitcaster.
