I have a 1994 evinrude 175, do both wires to the tachometer come from the top of the regulator,( signal and power)

That was fun back in the day, this post has over 8,000 hits, any of you old farts still alive

My Evinrude 175 year 1994 cranks and idles fine put it in gear give it some gas and keeps running but does not accelerate, after about ten minutes of this it alll of a sudden starts running...

I have 6 " hi jacker jack plate on a 94 evinrude 175, I do not under stand all the holes and adjustments, can someone explain these holes and why the jack bolts bent.

So many different answers

I changed the cables with a series of tries, was eventually able to get enough slack at the boat motor, was a really tough job

I changed them, pain in the ass left blood on boat

Boat ran ok for one outing POS

Did not fix boat, initial run, boat stood up turned 200 rpm and would not plane out

Foot was replaced
