Anyone know why some SX boats had jackplates installed at the factory and some had transom mounted motors and factory said warranty would be void if a plate was installed ?

So if I read you right , Why not use solid glass for transom ? Too brittle ?

If water intrusion will kill composites also , why not just use plywood ?

Got a cant turn down price on a 10” jackplate . Want to put it on my 99 18.5’ G3 glass boat . Transom is solid with glassed in knees so I’m not worried about that. Do u think 10” of setback is too...

Lol ! Totally agree with u . Ive got a tach , just need to figure out why it’s not working . And need to order WP guage .

No Jackplate and I am not 100% sure of putting one on . People say the hull is very similar to a Skeeter SX, which some say transom isn’t strong enough . Ive emailed G3 about it but haven’t heard...

From what I have read , the ZX came with a jack plate , but SX didn’t , and if u put one on the SX it would supposedly void the warranty !
