For what you’re using it for I’d say what you’ve got (+ the upgrade to Gen3-9) is fine. If your main use is down scan the image quality of the LSS-1 transducer has never been bettered by Lowrance so...

There’s always the possibility that the transducer is level when the boat’s out of the water but the weight distribution is altered to put it on an angle when you get aboard & cruise off?
