Yes, it will be anounced by Yamaha in the near furure, just ask your Yamaha dealer.
Grant2, if who ever had the motor before you had the service work performed when it was due, it should last way more than 300 hours. I know a guy who has a Yamaha 250 HPDI that has well over 500...
I agree with Skeeter185, that motor is bullet proof as long as you have it serviced when you are suppose to.
The best answer will be Yamalube 2M but, Mercury/Quicksilver Premium Plus, Evinrude XD-50 and a few others will do well.
Amistad Tackle,
I will have to agree with some of the others somewhat, first of all Mercury Premium Plus does contain more molybdemum than the Yamalube 2M, a little more than 300 ppm more. If you...
shermsmarine has the exact same answer that Bass Cat Boats gave me !! Just saying.
That's pretty dang good for a 150 on a ZX-190 but, as the others said, if you want more out of it you can purchase the Hydro-Tech or buy a bigger motor. The ZX-190 is rated for a 175.
I agree also. Be sure and have a compression check done on it before buying, just to be sure.
I would use the Yamaha brand and put it on there, it will save you a lot of headaches, I promise you.
I owned a F150 Yamaha 4-stroke and the 150 HPDI would pass me every time.
I vote HPDI but, if you are not worried about speed the F150 is a very dependable outboard motor.
I currently have a...
If you can find a boat dealer, you can usually buy it in bulk at a lower price. I pay $18.00 per gallon For Yamalube 2M and buy 5 gallon at a time from my boat dealer. You can per your owners manual...
I have fished out of both, both are fantastic boats, I own a Classic and like the room and I think it rides better in rough water.
I agree with ChrisH, at the least do what Chris recommended.
Bama96, I know what Flyswatter's Eyra with a 250 SHO would do, I bet you probably know also.
Pete Dubois is the man with the plan for parts at Bass Cat.
I hear some growling in the background !!

I've got a 1 year old 2009 model on a 2011 Bass Cat, as Ranger391v said, as long as you keep the filters clean and run ring free and Startron or Sta-bil, you should not have any problems, very good...
Knowing how fast the cat hulls are when all is said and done I'll bet it will run 50 or better with the Mercury 115 and the right prop !!
That's one fine looking runt though !!

I used some this weekend to see how it done in my HPDI, smells almost like my Yamaha Ringfree and close to the same color as the Ringfree, plus it does not contain any alcohol like the Seafoam does....
Hey guys, need your help. There is a guy on another site that has blown a powerhead on a Yamaha 200 2 stroke and wants to know is the motor worth $2,200.00. I am not familar with one that old, does...
Sherm,
That is one fine looking Bass Cat. I think that model is going to hurt some feelings with the Mercury 150 Pro XS on the back. That boat should carry the mail , so to speak.
I use ringfree and seafoam. I alternate the two every other tank full. I know it may be over kill but, my prop hub stays clean, motor idles very good and it runs good on top end.
