Is there an ohm difference between the pre and post 2001? I’ve also seen them labeled as 2 wire and 3 wire, there seems to be a lot of variation and just want to make sure I get the correct one.

Looking to replace my trim and fuel gauge on my 89 SCR 184 with a Merc 150 Black Max. Are the factory gauges available, I can only find 2001 and later gauges. What is the difference from pre 2001?
