This is appears to be some sort of panfish, because of the way the school stacks. Bass tend to be in the same water column or depth, and the school may be tight/spread out depending on their mood.

Good lake to fish! You can catch a ton of smallmouth beating the bank(size is a problem), but you can also catch fish schooled up offshore or on channel swings, and these are always the bigger fish...
