I mounted mine with a bracket on the transom between the motor. I only have experience with the sportsman, it worked well held me in place. Only negative thing was the noise when closing it.

I ran a z6 with single power pole sportsman for 5 years, it will stop you by does require adjustment with the tm to prevent swinging. I rarely had an issue with it as I'm usually not stopped down...

What's an extra 60-75 lbs of weight really though. I'd give up a mph vs having to be concerned with loss of tm battery. Ultimately fish ability is when the tm is down.
