I've got both and really love the Solix. It doesn't have to be complicated in setup and in my experience the touchscreen is so much easier/quicker to navigate menus.
The comment about them tearing up a lot of lower units I definitely believe. We had one at Mark Twain lake last Summer come flying up in a cove full of stumps. You could tell he didn't care about any...
This ^^^^^^
Most of my Trig/jig reels I prefer 14# Sunline Sniper. To help keep cost down I spool reel partially with cheap mono and then put 100yds of Sniper on.
I've got a older GLX 803, love that rod for Trigs 3/16-1/4oz weight plus plastic(trickworm,7" ribbon tail or 4" craw) up close it's very accurate.

Thanks that really helps seeing it side by side
Will this still allow me to get good "arches" on fish returns while idiling
I'll give that a try next time out. I'm also going to order the XNT 14 HW T as we discussed the other day and give that a try and hopefully I can see fish around cover better.
Thanks again
When you have time please call Humminbird and let them know your having issue to. When I spoke to them they hadn't recognized it as being an issue yet and said they'd try and replicate. Hopefully...

Hi guys
Updated my Solix12si(g1) and now using medium/high frequency at same time in 2d the scroll rate is so slow it's almost not useable. If I use separately scroll rate is normal. Saw someone...
Fwiw I updated my gen1 Solix 12(ver.3.40)a couple days ago. The download from Humminbird had the 3.50 update along with 3.64. Mine failed when I tried to put card in after boot up and let it...
Zoom 8" Magnum in Spring
Good deal !! Panther can be very stingy
When I lived in Florida we used this lots when bass are shallow in standing grass reeds. Used primarily the old Slugo and Zoom trickworm. Always rigged straight so it would come through grass better....
Solix12si(g1) and Helix9si(g1) both have always been a disappointment to me using DI. Unfortunately my old cheap Lowrance Elite 4DSI on other boat blows both away for down imaging
FWIW Trilene knot is well known for being one of the strongest terminal knots and is way more than 35%
Been using these and really like them over past two years
