Might be. But when I check the wiring diagram for manual started, carburetted engine, it's still there. So no backfeed from fuelpump/starter....
The one I'm working on is carburetted

According to my wiring diagram the purple goes no where. It probably in use for other models. There are 4 wires from the stator which goes to the ECM. This engine comes with a manual start aswell,...
New stator, New ecm, still no spark.
I can't see where ecm gets its power from, shouldn't the ecm get 12vwhen ignition is on?
Buzzer is silent as well....
seems like the Voltage...
ok. I`ll get the new stator today, so hopefully there will be a spark tonight after work:) Crossing fingers.
I have ordered a oscillometer, will this be helpful for testing rotors\coils etc?
Doesnt the DVA adapter only messure the highest value of pos\neg value of the curve?
It's not an adapter, I borrowed a fluke from work which have peak voltage as an option.
After som testing the voltage was gone... O.5v max.... Must be a leakage, but I don't have a insulation...
Finally got hands on correct equipment.
Still have some funny readings, does this means i need to replace the stator?

Procedure says 250-320 DVA, and i get approx 73 DVA....
But i get...
When i crank the engine with red wire from multimeter to green\white and ground i only get around 35v. same from white\green and ground.
When i check the resistance between them i get 643ohm....
Thank you.
Havent tried another cps, but it have recistanse within spec. Key harness seems to be OK, but I cannot see where the ecm get power. The purple wire from the ignition goes nowhere, only...

Bought a engine with no spark.
Checked flywheel coils, sensors, ignition coils, pulled wiring and checked all wires for continuity and all is within spec, except ignition coils have a...
Yes I love the punch in that engine.
After som hard googeling last night, I found other raising the same question. In the comments section there was discussed that the newer, pre 2006 would be...
1999 optimax 150 hp s.nr.: 0G802873
There is an engine noice in the range 3200-3700rpm. Hard to describe, but it is a little "harder" than normal.
It have always been like this, and it goes...
That would be the diagnostic port i assume...
It's alive, all that matters with summer right around the corner. Look forward to see how it performs with CCM glassfiber reeds, stuffer kit and New "blue" injectors
Update:
Replaced ECM, now it runs perfect!!
just adding some info after some hours of troubleshooting.
If i disconnect the throttle arm between the TPS` and the throttleplate. The engine will beep when start up, when i rev it just over idle...
After a night thinking I got to think about one thing, if I remember correctly, the ground wire for one of the TPS is common ground for. Lot of sensors on the engine. So if one or more sensors...
Yes. But when I connect the TPS with a small wire in the connector, the reading is correct. One TPS increasing, the other decreasing...
Tried a set of TPS today, still same problem. But there is something about the messurments i dont get.
The A pin is ground. C pin is 4,7v in to sensor. And B pin is signal out, from TPS to ECU....
Cant find any faulty sensor or function, so im back on the TPS`. When i disconnect the inner TPS, the engine dont respond on any throttle. If i disconnect the outer TPS, nothing changes, runs good,...
Yes, but I opened the return-spring assambly, mountet it back the opposite way on the opposite TPS, and they changed from outer to inner in voltage readings...
Anyway, is there a detailed electric...
still beeping\check engine, took out the TPS` and removed the returnspring assambly on the TPS arm. swoped the inner\outer TPS. hooked up a voltmeter, still within specs..
Now i cant understand...
That is what I suspect aswell... I've tried to unplug and "jump" a few sensors. Will do some more testing during the weekend.
Just replaced the direct injectors and mounted CCM reeds and stuffer...
