I would mount it where the old one is. It looks like a more solid mount compared to the other location.

You will have to download the software update for the carbon because the live and carbon use different software. Make sure you erase the live update from card before you add the carbon update.

What charger do you have? Unhook both the positive and negative wires from charger to electronics battery and try that

Check the fuse in the head of the ultrex it could be blown.

Did you test between the striped wire and solid wires? How many volts was you testing for? Voltage could be real small.
