A 20xd rear storage is the same size roughly as a 21xd with a saddle tank. 21xd without a saddle is much bigger. Probably why they looked the same to you.

Glad your Ok and in the 80s the 21xd is pretty safe , you can get away with quite a bit

Someone should go look. If it's only cosmetic there is money to be made here.

Love the room of a single but the dual would be nice for a passenger. I bet if someone came out with a NICE quick install/remove second console there would be a market for it.
