    Best chatterbait rod

For you experienced chatterbait throwers...what is your favorite rod to use and why?

I've been experimenting but haven't felt something that feels right...mostly fishing over shallow grass. Thanks

There are several I like, but among my favorites are the Megabass F5-68X4 Super Orochi. It has a nice tip, plenty of backbone, and handles a 1/2 oz chatterbait extremely well - among a lot of other things. I also like a Loomis MBR 843 GLX - it's just a great all purpose rod and is in the zone with 1/2 oz chatterbaits.

i had a dobyns savvy 704c that i loved for chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. i'm working on replacing all of my rods with the champion line is the only reason i traded that rod off.
i think you need a sensitive rod for chatterbaits so you can slow them down and barely make that blade vibrate sometimes. which works great when your trying to skim it over the top of cover like grass.

    844 in loomis.
in Dobyns, 705 because you will be around grass. It has plenty of behind!
Daiwa's zillion frog rod would also work nicely.

Dobyns Champ 734. Also great for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits.

Dobyns 704 and 734 are both great choices. I would say that the 734 would work best with braided line, while the 704 is more of a fluoro stick. That's a personal opinion though.

I use the same rod for chatterbaits that I use for a spinnerbait - 6'6" medium heavy casting rod...the old, original Browning Platinum.
