    Ranger aluminum

Was reading a thread on the tin boats forum, someone mentioned the new Ranger alum. boats were going to be built on the Triton alum. Hulls. Any truth to that? I hope this new line is not just a triton/crestliner/lowe hull with a ranger name on the side. Since Brunswick owns Triton Alum./crestliner/lowe/lund , is Platnium Equity purhasing any alum. companies from Brunswick? Because I was under the impression Ranger was set to produce their own alum. boats, hiring new workers in the process.

What I'd like to see in a new Ranger alum. boat

    deeper insulated livewells
    standard recess TM pedal
a nice console with flush mount say at least a 597 size graph/gps
The center and port rod locker like thier glass boats have with the deck extending all the way back.
a Quality trailer, if so this will be an industry 1st alum. boat with a quality trailer
a quality Ranger boat cover option
Just overall fit and finish , and creature comfort layouts that make sense for the weekend angler.

Well if u think it will be first in nice trailer your wrong. Xpress has an outstanding trailer. I love my bigger ranger z19 I had but not own a 18 PFC xpress and the trailer is great! My father in law just got a new 2012 Ranger. The one that is like a retro fr?om the day. Gotta say it has lots of fishing space and is one great boat! They put same trailer under it as there nicer boats and although my trailer is all aluminum it is just as nice! Now insulated live wells would be great! Xpress missed the mark on that and that's a shame. Everything else from seats to console and everything else is real nice. I do hope they build there own an brIng the standard way up on the live wells been insulated and storage being done so it is water tight like glass boats.

your right, I totally missed the xpress backtrack trailers, I wish others would do the same, like G3, alumacraft, etc. From what I read on the xpress boards, about the only complaint from xpress owners is the dry storage getting wet. I love those x 19 boats , they look like a great boat. Glad to read you guys like the 177tr.

I'm hoping they look good and are Ranger quality. I just sold my 518 in hopes of ordering one in 2013. If they don't hold a candle to and X19, xpress will just get my money.

Also I hear the dry storage problems can be easily fixed with a few tubes of silicone.

First off, what did I miss? Ranger is making alum. boats again? If this is true when is production starting? This could be amazing if it is true.

Reports from the ranger dealer meeting that Ranger is to begin production on an aluminum boat in the fall with the first boats ready by December, supposed to hire 50 additional workers to build these new aluminum boats.
