Aerator pump cracked and leaking water.

It seems the fish saving chemicals used in livewells may be harsh in these pumps, if not rinsed out. I pulled my whole aerator out and but not sure how to get the round end off that you see in the picture? Are these PVC glued on or twist off ? Any help, as I cant go out on the water with this big hole in the pipe..:) I bought the boat used and the other pump was changed already but something has been eating up the integrity of the pump housings. Any ideas on where to get the parts and how to repair?

I had the same issue in my boat. I ordered the pumps under warranty from Ranger. I used 3m 5200 sealant to put mine back together. That's your pump base in that pic. I would bet you can reach down there and twist it off with your hand.

You will need to rebuild that pvc deal that the aerators mount to. Those older Rule pumps are junk, need to be replaced anyways.

They owner before replaced one side with the tsnumai but now other side is gone. Not a plumber , so not sure how to work with PVC pipes or what sealant to use, so thanks for the help. Bought a tsnumai 800 aerator, so will try and adapt that , if possible. It is threaded in the inlet side and I assume made to go through a hull VS on a T.

There are hoses that run to the outside of the hull that connect to the pvc tube. The pump screw into the pvc tube. I completely rebuilt mine over the winter. I got tired of changing pump cartreidges all the time, so I changed to the newer style Rule pumps. I couldn't get the old pump housings to screw out of the pvc, probably used sealant and were stuck, so I just built a new one out of schedule 40 pvc with schedule 80 couplings.

Thanks, knowing that they are screw in fit helps a lot. Going to fit this tsnumi 800 gph aerator and add a bracket to keep the PVC lines from bouncing for now. Then may rebuild during our short 2-3 week winter here..:)
