Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install.
Guys, Please give me your honest opinion on how my new carpet installing is looking. I'm curious if I ought to do anything different or have a pro do it. Take a look at how I did the trolling motor recess also.
I also put up a couple of pics of what it looks like under where we seat in the TR21's, if anyone should want to know.

I think that looks reallly great! Great job!
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (jtomlin)
Nice. Thanks for the pics. How did you attach the carpet to the storage lids? Is it glued?
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (twisttop)
I used Outdoor/Marine Carpet Glue of the tops of the lids and contact adhesive to glue the wrap over edges. As the glue took to long to drie, so I would have had to hold it in place, where as the contact adhesive stayed right off.

Looks very good JT. Did you get the precut carpet???
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (Smallmouthguy)
It is the BassCat Carpet. I didn't go with the precut, as it was only 20 oz.
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (jtomlin)
Wow! That looks really good. That Basscat carpet looks to be everything it is advertised as. How much time do you have invested so far and have you had any complications during the process???
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (Jiggernaut)
I've got about 8 hours in it allready. I fiqure it will take me another 2-3 hours to finish. It's time consuming trying to remove all of the hinges, then get all of the old carpet off. After that scraping all the remaining adhesive off. Once that's done it don't take to long to lay the new carpet. Oh, and the only complication I have had is my wife complaining of her shoulder hurting from scrapping the old adhesive off.

Good job. I did mine last year along with installing new seats. It makes a boat look nearly brand new..
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (tr21alabama)
Yeah it does and I should have new seats also in 2-3 weeks.
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (jtomlin)
What model seats did you go with? I put 05 in my 03 tr21 and they look much better than the older ones.
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (jtomlin)
In the last 2 pics you show the fuel tank, I think, if so how is it exposed. Do the seats actually sit on it or is there removeable panels that cover it? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif By the way your carpet looks great. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

I went with 06 seats, with a gray outer area and navy blue interior area. I had a hard time deciding between the 05 and 06 models.

There is a removeable panel located under the seats that they are seating on. There is 3 screws located on the outside of the two seat bottoms, right next to the edge. If you feel around in the carpet there, you will find them. They are about 4 inches long. There is also 4 screws located on the back edge next too the livewill and storage compartment lids. You can flip those lids up and remove them, then just lift the back up towards the front and it will come right out. It will make life alot simplier to lay the floor and that area, believe me I tried to lay it, then fiqured out that it came out. It only took a few minutes after that. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (jtomlin)
Justin, did you have a built in recessed TM pad or did you buy an aftermarket one and then carpet over it?
Re: Opinions Wanted on Carpet Install. (Jiggernaut)
I installed the Pro-Tray then carpeted over it. I thought it made it look more like a factory installed item. I was wondering what people thought about that.
