Re: (StrikeBack)
Duncan actually brings up an interesting point.
Lets say you have a console unit, a bow unit and a 360 tied into the ethernet port, and you have the 360 mounted on the transom and are using the bow unit to look at the 360 image.
How does it correlate the 16-21 foot difference between where the 360 is located to where it marks a point on the bow unit?

Stymie, Doug already asked about that. He replied here saying bird has already done the correlation differences.

Re: (T Mike)
Would be nice to know how that is done. Wouldn't that require some sort of heading sensor, to accurately provide an accurate offset?

Re: (T Mike)
Thank Mike, I missed that comment.

Re: (mduncan62)
GPS Correction was already taken into consideration and is built into the 360 Imaging System. So when you are on the bow your casting to the correct spot! Humminbird is thinking way ahead!
I think one of the huge benefits is crappie fishing you can see which tree the crappie are on as you fish fence rows or brush piles you can watch the brush pile and keep it exactly where you want it in relation to the boat. Watch the fish move in and out of the brush pile! 360 is going to change the way all anglers fish forever. You can reduce the scan range just like SI and increase the details so them little crappie will glow on the screen and watch picking them off one-by-one! Just get the grease hot! Time for a fish fry!

The Bracket Manufacturer is going to be the one to offer that product. Due to Engineering Reasons. Since MinnKota is a Sister Company to Humminbird MinnKota is building and has approved that they can accomidate and support the HB 360 Imaging along with Talon on their brackets. So it's done for MinnKota Talon. Power Pole would have to offer that product since they are the ones that engineered their brackets.

That's some of the "magic" in this system that are trade secrets that cannot be released. Especially with Patent Pendings and the marketplace we currently have - disclosure of some information cannot be disclosed because of confidential trade secrets. All I know it has been addressed!

Re: (Doug Vahrenberg)
So you have 2 head units on your boat. The 360 is on the transom. You view the 360 screen at the console, the blue boat icon has been adjusted to match the 7ft difference. And on the bow, you view the 360 screen and the blue boat icon has been adjusted 20ft.
That is what you are saying, correct? Just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

Re: (mduncan62)
My understanding that you will able to set a GPS Correction Offset to match where you are reading the data. I have not had the opportunity to be on the water with the 360 Imaging but have been learning from the "masterminds" at Humminbird that have been on the water and testing it and created the new technology. And they told me not to worry that has been taken care of. That you will be able to reference the data from your position not the location of the 360 imaging unit.

Re: (Doug Vahrenberg)
That will surely make it a lot more useful. Thank you for the info.
Another quick question. I noticed another guy said that the transducer will raise on it's own there is something that could hit it. Is that your understanding?

A lot more useful, A lot more useful, A lot more useful, A lot more useful.
Hell that is an industry first as that is not available on any sonar no matter SI/2D/DI.

so if i have a 1158di at the bow and a 1198 at the console, linked via ethernet, what would it take(acessories) for me to run this option and whats the round about price, and would it be compatible with both units or just the 1198?

YOu can only view similiar units with the same features. In other words you can't share SI with a NON si unit etc.

Re: (mduncan62)
is it possible that there could be a setting for a man in another boat that has a lowrance unit could tap in on the gps correction offset.oh yea he could just jump in and swim over http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif just kidding http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif

Thats outstanding. Even without this the 360 imaging is worth it with it constantly updating. Them schools of deep hybrids and spots won't even have a chance as they will be surrounded by spoons :)

Re: (T Mike)
Did you see all the fish and bait in the Rail Road image???

The more I look at the details and fishing information the more I see the value of 360 Imaging....

Re: (Doug Vahrenberg)
Pretty self evident really that a full 360 degrees of almost in real time imagery is totally full of valuable information. You will be able to see fish follow your bait. Right now when we retrieve a lure we really don't know how enticing the retrieve style is to the fish unless we get a bump or full on strike. Now we can really see which action brings home the bacon. I can just imagine the excitement when using surface lures at night on our big Australian barramundi. To see the fish follow, then stop pause the lure and give it a twitch and see the fish move from one part of the screen to near the lure and BANG. Heart failure!!! Can't wait. Now how do I fit one of these things on my small 12 boat. I hope all the doings of the transducer are in the bottom unit so I can get rid of the talon device and make my own rig.

Them fish under the boat are harder to catch when shallow water guy like me! I want to find the ones away from the boat that SI and 360 Imaging can show...they are the easy ones to catch! Fishing this shallow you aren't going to catch the ones under you that is why you need coverage away from the boat so you can cast to them and fill the livewell!
