Got the loan approval for a 2017 Tracker 175TXW today! Should pick her up next Saturday! :nanner:
Dat right there is freakn cool!! A friend called me a few days ago and is asking me all kinds of questions about Tritons and Merc's and what years were the good mercs and what about Tritons blah blah blah. He had one a few years ago that he bought and I told him NO but he didn't listen. Got a lemon used one and then sold it. He's been out of bass boating for several decades.
I'm going to steer him towards an Express or a Crestliner like the one Cox uses on FLW. I think he would be better off.
Nice boat!
Wishiwasfishin2- what is a "flashed" engine?
I am not very technical, so excuse me if I explain wrong. But certain motors are the same it just depends on how the computer is programed. Like a 200, 225 and 250 yamaha SHO are the same block and components. The computer is what tells it how much output and rpm's to run. You can send the, I believe, ECU of to be "flashed" or reprogrammed so you can gain more output from your motor.
There may be someone who understands this better. But that is the basic premise of the idea.
Thank you sir! Sounds like theirs more computer work than wrench turning to tweek an engine?
Yes, basically plug and play.
One of our Allison owners did the exact same thing. Bought the 200 SHO for a lot less money and had his computer reprogrammed or "flashed" to 250 specs which gives the motor the HP of a 250. We would all be surprised at how much our motors are identical from 150 to a 200 and 200 on up. I learned a lot when this Allison owner had his 200 SHO modded to over 300 HP. All in the computer all internals untouched.
IS THIS TRUE OF ALL THE NEW FUEL INJECTED BRANDS
We picked her up yesterday morning. It was cold and wet but we managed to run around Canyon Lake for about an hour and a half.
