Skeeter owners post your numbers
I don't see a thread in the Skeeter forum about setups and top speeds. Thought maybe we should start. Something like this from the Ranger forum.

Top Speed: 66.4 water glass no wind
RPMs: 5800
Notes: Full load(atleast all my equipment) and 27 gallons of gas, plus my fat arse at 200lbs. Also included a pic for proof.

Re: Skeeter owners post your numbers (Skeeter Jay)
Update to this, since the summer heat has hit, running my Tempest, I am now seeing around 62 by myself/full gear/gas and my speed with a partner/full gear/gas has been knocked down to 60.
Re: Skeeter owners post your numbers (Phippy)
Here it is, fellas. Still not happy as I want to be....
06 ZX190 with 175 HPDI, 2.5" below pad with 12" jack, stock 25M prop, 20+ psi water with all tackle but half tanks of gas will get me 64.6 at 5500. still can't seem to get to 5800 or break 65. tried everything it seems. have been told this boat should hit 66 at least. any ideas?
Re: Skeeter owners post your numbers (bigdan)
Big Dan,
I too am in the same situation.
1997 ZX185c dual console
1997 Yamaha 175 Pro V
Yamaha pro series M25 prop (few knocks in blade)
This weekend, 90 + degree heat, dew points in the 60s.
2 people in boat, fully loaded with tackle, half tank of gas.
64.5 rpms at 5700. The jackplate is set around 2.75 " below pad. I may lower it a hair closer to 3 to see if the #'s are better.
I can get higher speeds than that in the spring of the year but as of now thats what I get.
I have owned this boat for 7 years, and I have never been able to hit 6000 rpm with my Yamaha prop.
My twin bro has a 25 pitch Mercury Tempest Plus on his zx185c with a Yamaha 175 Vmax........Talk about performance!!!!!!
Re: Skeeter owners post your numbers (jon)
Jon,
I've had better luck lately. I had a few good nicks in that 25 Yamaha prop and polished them out, then went up to 2.5". water #'s still above 22# and speed picked up pretty good. I can run 65 gps all day now and have touched 66.9 for a few minutes. How good did that tempest 25 run, by the way?
Re: Skeeter owners post your numbers (bigdan)
Thats good news bigdan. Just polished out some nicks on two of the blades, will post some new speeds on Monday.
Re: Skeeter owners post your numbers (Phippy)
Bigdan,
In the spring of the year with a mild chop, we had his rig running 68.2 GPS @ 5700 rpm.
He has a 1997 single console ZX185c, with a 1999 Yammie Vmax (carb) 175.
Saturday out smallmouth fishing with 2 of us and extremely humid, hot conditions, we were running 65.3.
