Passenger console swap?

Hey guys, sorry but I can't figure out the damn search feature on this forum. I know I've seen a few posts about replacing the passenger console with the flat "deck extender" one. Perfect world I'd love to do this for the warmer months and then switch back to the console. I tournament fish and being able to extend the deck in the summer when freezing my partner won't be an issue would be awesome if it wasn't a PIA to do it!

My questions are:

What is the price of that deck extender piece?
Has anyone tried to build some type of quick release to be able to take it on and off?

I have one but never tried to install it. Might be an option for this summer.

Mike, I replied to your PM. I have the deck lid (no passenger console). In my opinion, the front deck feels MUCH bigger with the deck lid in place. However, up in the 90s my boat starts leaning to starboard and I have wondered if that might be happening due to the down force on the drivers console with no passenger console to balance it out. I have also wondered if there is more or less drag/turbulence in the cockpit without the passenger console. All interesting questions that won't be answered until someone makes back-to-back runs with and without the passenger console.

I absolutely love the fish layout in my XB21XST single console. Keep all my get to quick stuff in my small compartment on passenger side. It would be nice and appears simple to add a passenger console for winter time for my partner. It would attach to my preexisting hinge and work great. This a good idea. Should be simple for an XST. Woody - I don't think you can get a passenger console for the XST if it didn't come dual console from the factory. The deck lid we are talking about is the one on the 2+2. I am pretty sure the deck lid over the glove box on the XST is a different size. The passenger and drivers consoles on the 2+2s hinge forward. The 2 seaters are different. The consoles on the 2 sweaters are glasses into the top cap...

I might need to try it first and see what it does. If I decide to sell it I'll let you know. I have said the past 2 summers I was gonna install it and never got around to it.
