Good/Bad experience with Ranger VS1780/Rude 135 Etec ???

Hi guys. I'm new to BBC and would appreciate any input you all can share. Real quick - I presently do not own a boat, but looking for one. I have had boats in the past. Boat will be used on Lake Norman NC. Looking at alum boats due to towing capacity. No tournaments, just fun fishing, with wife onboard, sunning. Sooo, I have been looking at a 2017 Ranger VS1780 with 135 Etec on it. I have been researching info on this year and model with some not so good reviews from a few owners. Cracked transoms, incorrect motor shaft length, and numerous more minor issues. However other reviews were more positive. I would like to hear from anyone who runs this boat and "your" experience with it and Ranger.
