***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information***
Ok guys, Mark will pin this at the top of the page. All screen shots, information, how to's, etc. will go under here so we can keep track and others can find the information relatively quick.
Thanks for the pin up Mark. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
Here is how your upload your waypoints to the HDS unit:
NOTE:if you have two HDS units connected via ethernet, you only need to upload waypoints to one (1) unit. Once you turn the other HDS unit on it will automatically transfer all the points to the other unit.
Pages>Utilities>Files
http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...g?t=1267581238
Then go to your SD card and highlight the file hit menu>import

Now for downloading the waypoints from the unit to the SD card; same as importing them; just go into your files>waypoints> and highlight it and then menu> and it will give you the options:

I have had many questions on what my settings are. I figured the best way is to take some screen shots of the menus. Enjoy!
On the HDS-8/10, we have the soft keys which are quick access to various settings. Below is a screenshot which shows those settings:

Ok, got my HDS 7 replacement in today and i'm playing around with it in the house setting up my settings, etc. I have a brand new 4 GB High Capacity card and it reads it fine. So, looks like they at least accept up to 4 GB. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (fishin couillon)
ive been useing a 2 gig with no issues
Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (bigbeave1)
I thought the 4 would have been way to big and not work but it does. Now i need a card reader that will read it. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (fishin couillon)
what are your settings and what is the water color? I have mine on auto... sorry it was 100+ and I wasnt fooling with it. IN super stained water with muddy bottoms it was lame, moved out to deeper water and it was killer.

hello yall i have a hds 5 and need some help to fine tune it any help would be thankful and i am haveing trouble uploading the new updates thanks Derek Picard http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/embeer.gif
Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (rangerman1981)
I found that if i used the manual settings i was able to tune it better. As for the updating if you didn't use the java application and downloaded it the other way which would be an *.exe file you need to "run" that program and it will then prompt you to save it to your sd card. It will extract your files and place them on your sd card. Then take it and put into your unit and let it go to work.
Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (fishin couillon)
Well here's a few more pics from the HDS 7. I'm getting there on the fine tuning but still have a little ways to go. I haven't found the sweet spot yet. Look at the time, they were taking one after the other, basically you can put these side by side and make on long picture.

And again, some more screen shots. This time, i moved the HDS 7 to the console. I have come to the conclusion that I get better readings when in deeper water vs. 10' or less. When it's less, the fish archs become blobs on the screen. These were from the river today.

Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (fishin couillon)
in shallow water fish are blobs due to senstitivity too high. they are pretty shots

Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (fishin couillon)
I have a question about these new units, I was playing with a display unit at BPS the other evening and discovered a screen with info on it like rpms, engine temp, water psi, trim, etc....how is this achieved? That would be sweet as hell having all that info on the screen. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (flubyu)
That would be your "info" page on the unit. It is on the unit but to get it working your engine on your boat would have to have a nema hook up in order for it to work. For example i have a yamaha 150 carb but it does not have the hook ups to make it work. Now if i had the HPDI engine, i would by the adapter cable for it and hook it up.
Re: ***Lowrance HDS Unit Screen Shots & Information*** (fishin couillon)
Gotcha...figured it would be something like that.
