Key Switch Question
So when I was running a cable with a wire fish I pulled apart a splice someone had spliced it before with a crimp connector. My question, is it ok to solder the wires and then heat shrink? I just don't think the butt connectors will cut it for a long term fix. My serial is 0T565645

If i'm forced to splice a wire, I either solder/heat shrink or use high quality crimp and shrink butt connectors. The wires must be clean and oxidation free to solder correctly.

I think heat shrink butt splices are ok if you use a quality crimp tool. Mine is a Klein, never had issues with it.

Depends on long you plan to keep the boat. Regular butt connectors will eventually fail. Shrink connectors are pretty good. I solder all my stuff including the ring connectors.
