Yep, crazy, Lea. I saw some friends on FB yesterday already drilling holes on one of our local, higher-up lakes. Next week Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the teens for the daytime highs. Around 0 at night.......I love ice fishing though, and so does my dog because he can run all over creation and not be confined to the boat. Iposted earlier in this section that the lake in my photos has a creek running through it and it never totally freezes, so I will still be able to kayak fish nearly all winter. It just has to be above freezing so my reels will still work.

Prolly will at some point on the thin stuff. I've done it with my bigger boats.

Same here. After 3 months of our winters in SD, that's plenty. Ice never gets more than 14-16 inches thick too, so no need for an auger extension like them "way north" folks do.
