Top Cap Removal

I am not removing a top cap I just have a question, does all the wiring stay with the top cap. If it does would it be easer to rewire with the top cap removed. If its any thing like my ranger all the wires go through a tube and it's a bitch to pull a cord like a transducer through it and I always have a small rope running through the tube . So would it be easer to pull the cables through with the cap on or off. I would never remove the top cap because that's out of my league. I would take it to some body with experience, this is something Iwas wondering about.
