    Fishing in MS in Jan

I am looking on making a trip down to MS in mid Jan to bring my grandson back home after Christmas visit. I used to live in the Ross Barnett area but did not have a boat. Would like to spend a day or 2 fishing for LMB.

What about Grenada, Enid, or Ross B in Jan? Boat ramps good? Any help is appreciated....

Dunno if there's alot of water left at Grenada or Enid. Tourney this past weekend at Ross Barnett was won with 14 lbs if that's saying much. My friend down there said the bite is tough at the Rez.

Try hitting one of the mississippi river oxbows that aren't connected to the river. Or pickwick. If your going to Jackson, Eagle lake, Little Eagle, Lake Washington, or Bee Lake are all good choices where you can just dunk a boat and go fishing without knowing anything about the lake.

Whew!! Most of our tourneys up here all year are won with 8-15lbs. Amazing a 14lb day is a bad day!!

Eagle lake, Little Eagle, Lake Washington, or Bee Lake have any good ramps, motor restrictions, etc??

    Thanks!

I have a friend that fishes Eagle Lake in January and early February and he says it is awesome that time of year. I haven't had a chance to go with him during that time yet though.

Ross Barnett will make you want to quit

Eagle, Bee, Ferguson, Pickwick would be my choice. Pickwick is the best for a vacation. So beautiful and big.

(My Opinion only and not based on catchin !)

I agree with that and I've only been there 2 times.
