    Thumbs Up Merc V6, 16 amp aluminum flywheel

    Want to remove the top plate of the flywheel to CHROME . But affraid about the balance .....
    Can be ale t Chrome all the surface of the plate????????? Thanks

    don't know but you better make points so you line every thing back up the right way like mark the center hub the top plate and the bottom that holds the magnets and why not powder coat the top it looks good not a good pic but I had this one powder coated

    I would NOT chrome plate,paint or powder coat that flex plate in its entirety. I do NOT put any paint in between ANY surfaces that are metal and touch. When the plating/paint/powder coat comes off in these areas( and it will between the two metals that are touching and even slightly moving ) you will loose your fit ( tightness ) and the bolts will loosen..If you will observe when taking the flywheel apart IF it is stock and never been disassembled ALL surfaces that are metal and touch is bare metal its that way for a reason!!!     O.K. Itīs better NOT to touch those plates ( Chrome or Paint ) .....right !!!!!!

    You can powder coat the top like mine but like Jay said nothing but steel to steel on the mating surfaces
