Ram mount base hole does not match with lowrance hds 10 bracket.

Got a Ram mount for my hds 10 from bass pro shop the other day and yesterday when i was trying to connect the hds 10 mounting bracket to the Ram mount base, the holes doesnt match up. I can only match two holes at one time only, either the two left hole or the two right. Do i have to drill two other 2 holes on the Ram Mount base? I thought Ram Mounts made these to fit Lowrance or Humminbird without drilling the Ram mounts.

Yes you have to drill them.

You have to drill them. Ram makes mounts for nearly anything so they cannot possibly have a mounting hole pattern for every product! Likewise Lowrance cannot possibly have their mounting holes match up with every type of mount. I actually cut the sides off my mount in addition to drilling out the new holes for my HDS8.

Everybody has to drill new holes in the bracket.....it's a given.....Just line up the 2 holes you want to use, make sure the bracket is even all the way around, and when you're satisified, use 2 of the short bolts and lock nuts to hold it in place, tighten them down snug...not tight...yet......use a clamp to hold the other end to keep it from slipping, and drill 2 new holes the same size that are in the bracket all the way through the base of the unit......de-burr the new holes, and insert the other bolts and nuts......tighten down, and you're good to go......piece of cake....or pie.....
