You are asking me this question? I should be asking you this---As respect to us vets---please leave this thread, with all due respect as this boat is not meant for you. I do not have a boat at this time.

Thank you for your service cheif, I think alot of people are missing the big picture on the price of these boats. Every thing but the metal on boats is oil based, even the tires on the trailer! The price of crude oil goes up, so does everything associated with it!! <*)))>{

I didn't talk to legend at all---why don't you skidaddle--this boat is not for you.
Find another page on the Legend Forum to TROLL. The Legend Tactical isn't for you.
Now I will have to decide b/w the 199 or the 211.

I started the debate with other veterans or current active duty. It was with reagrd to price of the tactical fro Military personnel vs other boats. Did not no that others were joining in to justify what Military people can afford or justify. Remember Justify what to spend and afoording are 2 differen things. Done with this.

Re: (E73bass)

Wonder if the this tactical is a one color based boat. What I mean is what about a navy blue and haze grey for the navy folks or red and gold for the jar heads ect. I love the olive green and tan. but a navy blue and grey would be sweet too. Just a thought!!

I was talking to Dean and he is open to other color schemes. He said he was talking to someone about doing one in Ghost Grey. I think it is up to the customer on the color options.

Re: (jtvandev)

Ghost Grey represents what service.? I would recommend that this long awaited tactical be left alone. TACTICAL means just that. None of the Services goes into their tactical mode in their Dress colors. Red is the emblem color of the Marines, not their tactical color. You can add somehere to each boat to commermorate what service. But leave it as its original Olive Green and tan. Though I do think a desert or jungle digital Carpet would add a neat tacical look.

Not sure which branch he was from. Dean just stated that he had someone wanting to do a different color scheme, and that he was open to it.

Re: (E73bass)

Ghost grey would indicate Navy ship tactical colors - think battleship or aircraft carrier colors. I think it would look pretty darn good and tactical.

For what it's worth, as an active duty member with 21 years of service, I was REALLY excited to see what Legend had in store, actively searched for details and pricing, and had high hopes that it would be attainable, for me but and especially for the young folks that I've had the privilege of leading.

They don't make enough. I've had Sailors counting pennies to get by, seen them volunteering to deploy AGAIN to save money (or make a little more in hostile fire pay), and some that I've had to urge to accept food stamps (pride is a tough pill to swallow). Despite what some in the threads have said, it is possible, but not likely.

Legend got some hopes up. There are lot of folks around the world, at sea, in the desert, in the jungles and a bunch of other places that since Legend's announcement, have been daydreaming about getting home, catching one heck of a deal on a bass boat, and casting a line from their own pride and joy. Those same daydreamers have been following this thread and were likely disappointed to see:

211 - 53.5K
199 - 47.4k
191 - 39.9k

And then they'd read the fine print and see that this includes no electronics, no trolling motor, no power poles.........

Then they'd probably resume their daydreaming and think about a used Nitro (the aluminum one with the 25 hp 2 stroke) this time around.

I think Legend did some stuff right though. I really believe they want this to be attainable by a service member or retired vet. They've cut deals to get the missing pieces at cost and they say all proceeds go to the Semper Fi fund. I also think they went a bit overboard (pistol holster, butt seat that will hold a rifle). Really? Guys are hitting the water to get away from that reality.

Don't really see many fiscally responsible active duty folks able to justify that kind of money so my recommendation is for Legend to open it up a bit (maybe to any Vet) to increase sales, sell the accessories at their normal retail, and donate the proceeds to the Semper Fi fund (I would personally recommend Wounded Warriors or something that benefits all services).

Just my two cents.

Knock 10K off all of those prices and you are closer to what responsible ACTIVE DUTY personnel can afford. I empahsize active duty. Retired personnel are onto their 2 nd career and drawing both retirement pay and their current career pay. Or really retired. over age 62 are drawing their mil pay plus ss.

Triton220 very well put. You nailed it to a "T". I know four of my Sailors that are avid anglers had their hopes of beating each other to be the first one to back his Tactical into the Potomac. They all think it was a marketing campaign put on by Legend and they feel burned. Can't say that I blame them.

Hefley I'm not sure what you are expecting here..I never read in any Legend article that they were building a boat that service men could afford. To me it was to show their appreciation for the service they provide.

Re: (Cborden)

It seems someone has an AGENDA in this thread and it is not Legend Boats.

Legend Boats attention to detail and forethought has caused them to have to expand their facility in these tough times..

Other Manufacturers have went bankrupt, shut down facilities and cut back at existing ones.

Boats like the Alpha Tactical is the type of thought process that has created this AWESOME growth for Legend in this crappy economy..

ONE AGENDA FOR LEGEND BOATS... Many other agendas for those watching

Quality isn't cheap..
