Same Reason Missouri Residents that fish Ky Lake have to purchase South and East Card from other Manufacture...there are borders. But sometimes LakeMaster adds Border lakes to both regions. I would wait to see what is released when the AL,FL,GA card is released here after the first of the year. That will tell 100% which one you need.

I live on KY Lake in TN near Paris Landing so I fish up the Big Sandy a lot. I have contacted Lakemaster and asked them if their KY Lake maps show the Big Sandy from mouth to the upper end. I have and use a 2006 Nav map that shows from mouth to upper end but Nav maps made in 2010 of the Big Sandy stop short of the upper end. I will buy a Lakemaster map in a heartbeat if it shows the detail/contours I am interested in. If and when I hear back from Lakemaster I will post what they say for anyone that might be interested.

Try BBC Sponsors many of them sell LakeMaster Products or contact me and I know a few others that sell LakeMaster. Your local Humminbird Dealer can get and sell LakeMaster Products. They have been shipping since December 10th the new releases just announced so they should be at stores or getting there real soon.

I have the new charts coming so I can get more examples as soon as they arrive. I know LakeMaster is busy trying to get the product to the stores but will see if I can get a few more shots too to post here.

The Release announcements are just beginning and hopefully more regions and lakes will be added as more releases are scheduled to be released after the first of the year....rumors sound like alot more areas will be covered. Just keep watching here and I'll post as soon as I hear the official releases.

I got my Great Lakes Region Card before my boat heads to it's new home and will be without my Humminbirds for a while. I'll add some examples from the different areas as I get uploaded. Here is some examples from Nickajack Lake in Tennessee

Doug, does Lakemaster provide updates at no charge once you have purchased the chip? For example, I have the Texas/Ok maps and Toledo Bend in not HD. If they make it HD will they provide this update at no charge? They should. Just curious. Thanks

They do not provide updates. What owners have found is they can sell their prior versions for more and purchase a new version and cost less than update or rebate programs.

I have set up a Database on the Yahoo SI Group to help Lakemaster owners update charts and buyers to find those willing to sell. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sideim...portRows&tbl=7

Lakemaster should have a program to turn in your old chip and get money back on it to update to the new one. This would be a way for them to say thank you for providing them business. Especially when you buy a chip and one year later they come out with an update for the same region. In other words, have a time sensitive program where within one year of your purchase if there is an update for the same region you could turn in your old chip and for half the price of a new one you can buy the new chip. This would be a smart thing for them to do plus would gain them a lot of consumer support.

That screws the dealers and take business away from them. Anytime you exchange directly with the customer the dealer gets screwed and without Dealers the Company can't survive. As a Farm Equipment Dealer I would be very upset if my Manufacture dealt directly with the customer...updating their tractor or replacing their tractor and keeping me out of the loop. That's why I'm in business to help the customer. No different with mapping or Electronics.

LakeMaster updates annually...many don't need to update because the lakes they fished information didn't need Updating. No need to spend extra money to update if the manufacture did not change any of the data on your fisheries.

Like before the most economical approach if you need to update is to sell your old version and upgrade to the new. And a lower cost of ownership versus rebates or upgrade programs. Most are selling their prior version cards in $80 to $100 Range on a $125 Intial Price, that's better than a $50 Rebate Program or $99 Upgrade Fee.

Just received word that NEW SouthEast Region will replace the Alabama, Florida, Georgia card and will INCLUDE Kentucky and Tennessee plus Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Mississippi. Kentucky and Tennessee will be on both the SouthEast and Great Lakes Regions.

If you want Kentucky and Tennessee NOW the Great Lakes Region is available...SouthEast Region will announce in January and start production then will arrival in stores after that.
