    Bassboat Graveyard

I'm just wondering...are there any known scrap yards where old boats go to die? I'm looking for a boarding ladder for a Ranger 487vs, old boat right? There just has to be a bunch of these 400 series boats piled somewhere and one's gotta have a ladder!!! I posted a "wanted" ad on this site but I'd rather make calls if possible. BTW, Ranger wants $400, seems expensive if there are some out there.

There is a bass boat graveyard right behind the Ranger plant. You might call and see if they have a used one there that they'd sell you, rather than ordering a new one.

They are called trailer parks and the customer service is lacking

If you do't have any luck at Ranger this guy sounds like he may have something.

Judging from some of the fishing shows on TV, I would guess many end up in Mexico, either purchased or stolen.

Fna Marine in Camdenton, Mo is a salvage yard that deals in a lot of insurance wrecks and older boats.

Have you tried Westmarine or someone local like Dowsar Marine or Brewers Marine. Both are in Hamilton down by the bay. Might not have an original Ranger ladder but could probably come up with something very close for a lot less.

Are you trying to find the exact one so that you can possibly fill some existing screw holes left by the original installation? If not, you might want to consider getting an E Ladder or I have seen where a guy is making one similar to the E Ladder that appears to be nicer, and I think it is a little less expensive. I can't remember the name of the company though.

I haven't looked for an aftermarket ladder yet. I kind of wanted to see if I could first find an original one first. I will check out Brewers and Dowsar Marine for sure. Thanks for the idea.
I have no existing holes in the boat so I'm open to any style.
    Thanks
